Meili Portroute is a female witchbeast tamer and former assassin in Re:Zero. Found as a feral child by Elsa Granhiert, she was trained under Mother Capella to control witchbeasts and use her innocent appearance to deceive targets. She served as a hidden antagonist before being captured following Elsa's death. After attempting vengeance against Subaru, she was offered forgiveness and now serves the Emilia Camp. On the surface meek and shy, she is a hardened girl who never learned conventional morality but genuinely loves witchbeasts and is fiercely loyal to those who accept her.
