Alice Lendrott is the female protagonist and maid of the Duke in *The Duke of Death and His Maid*. The daughter of former head maid Sharon, she grew up as the Duke's childhood playmate and fell in love before his deadly curse forced them apart. Returning at eighteen as his personal maid, her calm demeanor and relentless teasing rebuilt his will to live. Unable to touch, she expresses love through deadpan flirtation and absolute devotion. She can see ghosts, wears her mother's black maid uniform, and gave the Duke a wilted white rose meaning "an eternal promise."
